@chloetrevor_violin: Here’s a clip from rehearsal in Tlaxcala with @jvazquez0989! I don’t know how long I’ll be in bed with the flu so I’ll be posting clips from the rehearsals and performance over the next few days. It was so much fun! This was such a great group to work with - you should have heard the progress over 3 days, it was amazing! I think this movement might be my favorite movement of Vivaldi’s seasons after the third movement of Summer. It has so much character, style, and energy! I love the descriptions of the hunt and the beast running away and the dogs snapping at its heels.
Bow control is absolutely essential to be able to bring out all of the characters and stylistic contrasts - so make sure you hold your bow firmly with your fingers, don’t let your elbow droop, and plan out exactly where your bow needs to be in every part of the piece.
Are any of you working on Vivaldi’s Four Seasons? Which movement is your favorite?
🎻 Vivaldi - Autumn: III. Allegro from the Four Seasons (or “Concerto No. 3 in F major, Op. 8, RV 293, L'autunno - III. Allegro” - if you want to get really picky 😜)
