Today's prompt for #junemeetthemaker is Home, so I thought I'd share my studio, because it's my favourite part of my home at the minute!
My studio lives at the bottom of our garden, and we built it about 2 years ago now. When we bought the house, there was a small summerhouse in the same spot. When we redesigned our garden, we dug down about 4 foot and built the summerhouse that you see today, out of all the leftover materials from the garden, and other bits and pieces we sourced for free. To this day, theres very little in it thats cost us any money (aside from my lino supplies....). If you swipe across, you can see a picture of what the studio currently looks like in the evenings (and a sliver of our surrounding garden, including one of our roof top vegetable gardens!), as well as an early picture just after we had finished construction but before we had planted anything.
On the ceiling, there's a collection of copper plate 'at home' printing plates. They're incredible, all from a local town about 15 miles away, and they have the names of the local residents from probably 100 years ago. We have had them for ages but only recently put them up. I'll share the cleaning process because that was surprisingly fun!
The studio looks out onto a field and its lovely to watch all the life in it. The grass was cut and turned into hay bales recently, and I had a front row seat! It's the little things 😊
If youd like to join in, tomorrow's prompt is Routine!
