friYAYYYY!!! am I right!? got in a nice ‘lil chest and triceps pump today at one of my gyms! It is sooo good to be working out at a gym again. Home workouts are great but for me, nothing gets me as sore as a workout at the gym. I am definitely playing it super safe though and social distancing when I go out, and still trying to limit going to a public gym 1-2x a week! This week has been a bit annoying. I had a flare up of low back issues(I suspect SI joint). I was able to work up to this set of 3 on DL and opted to do pull ups and other back work without over taxing any spinal loading . A big thing I’ve learned is that movement is an amazing healer. Today was an absolutely grueling day of training, but I got it done, covered in dirt and sweat 😤 Shoveled rocks for 5 hours today for the dock and trekking up and down the hill in the back yard is more of a PITA than ya would think 😂 So this is the most volume I've done for squats for weight since the meet and being injured, so yay recovery PR! Legs! Boy was it hot 🥵 This workout was pretty quick. -Walking lunges into dumbbell squat 4 rounds of four for each leg (step apart, step together, squat, step apart). -RDL into Squat 4x8 (this RDL stance isn’t as narrow as it would normally be to accommodate the squat) -Dumbbell swings 4x10 (really thrust with the hips) -Deficit reverse lunges 4x10 (10 each leg) -Weighted Burpees 4x10(to not sacrifice form I stood instead of jumped at the top because of the weight) #legday #lunges #squats #burpees #staysafe #staymotivated #musclesandmascara #outdoorworkout

Somewhere between the Arnold and my March APF meet being canceled and the gyms getting shut down I was able to attempt a mock meet. . . I never posted the lifts because I wasn’t very happy with anything but my bench. I had worked all day and did the whole thing in 3 hours time, ending later into the night. Even though I had great support/help, it’s just not the same adrenaline as being on the platform. At the end of the day I just wasn’t very good that day. . . I was able to squat 600lbs, missed 640lbs. I surprisingly benched 355lbs pretty easy, was happy with that because of my shoulder injury. I pulled 700lbs and missed 740lbs. Total was only 1655lbs. . . The 640lb squat and 740lb deadlift would’ve both been lifetime PRs. It just wasn’t in the cards for me unfortunately. Let’s talk BLOATING!!!🤗 First you need to identify what is causing you to bloat! Is it hormonal, based around food or something more serious!🤔 Bloating can be normal but if it’s long lasting + pain it’s time to address it!👏🏻 • 1️⃣Stress- probably the number 1 thing we can all say we have & can lead to water retention as well as causing gas! 2️⃣Hormones- females PMS is it around your time of the month or is it long lasting? 3️⃣Diet- are you eating too much or too little fiber? Are you only eating greens? Do you chew your food thoroughly or swallow it whole? Carbonation drinks while eating? 4️⃣Sleep cycle- can you honestly say you get 8-10 hours of sleep EVERY night? Sleep is the body’s way of resting, you need it! • There are soOoOoO many ways that bloating can affect us! You need to find the root problem for you through elimination, trial & error! Let's talk about being bloated Let me tell you, girls do not walk around all day with abs and a flat tummy. Either they suck it in the whole day or they're just very lucky. Everyone gets bloated, some more than others, and it is completely normal and nothing to be ashamed of.
