Ok I tried to edit these to make them look as asthetically pleasing as possible, but in reality that second picture is just a picture of my giant notebook on a table at a vietnamease restaurant.
First picture is from the book “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron and I 10/10 recommend it to anyone. This second picture is a picture of a journal I started in 2017 as something for me to write in every now and then, which then led to every month, which led to every week and then finally by 2019 I was writing in it every day. It had a hard cover that fell off from all the wear and tear. I brought this journal everywhere with me. On every trip, every plane ride, every different time zone, several different desks, different trains, but no matter what I brought it with me even though it may have added an extra 5 pounds to my backpack.... it was worth it. I’ve always been writing songs, but I was never writing daily. To sit down and really listen to what your heart is trying to say is scary at first. These past few months I really discovered the importance of journaling every single day.
I credit this all to my DAD 🤍 who has always been encouraging me to write every day & to The Artists Way” By Julia Cameron, which is a 12 week long course. (Thank you @forestblakk & @rachel.m.siegel for both recommending this book to me 😊) As humans, we tend to hold a lot in without being fully aware of it until we allow it to come out on a page, in a post, in a song or wherever it may be. It’s just so important to let it out and listen to that silence within. Today, I celebrate a tiny victory because 3 years later this particular journal is complete🤍
Okay, real note - who would read my journal if it was a book? Lmk. If you made it this far on my caption, maybe you would? Thinking about calling it, “If Dr. Phil was a singer “✍️ 📝
