Today's #albumoftheday is Noah B's Night's Edge. This was the American trillwave/instrumental hip hop musician's first extended play, released in 2016. Noah B combines spacey ambience with hard-hitting hip hop-styled beats that blend the best of both worlds. This extended play is completely electronica-based, featuring synths and pads all over the place, alongside other vibe-heavy instrumental pieces.
A coworker of mine showed me this extended play and I have been hooked ever since. I love the fusion of laid back beats with upbeat tempos, which are both relaxing and energetic at the same time. Much of the release reminds me of the music featured in the original Mass Effect as well as in N+, which both featured very retro-future heavy aesthetics throughout.
Fans of lo-fi hip hop and its various other forms such as trillwave will definitely enjoy this one, as it is so multi-purpose. You can chill, dance, drive, or do whatever you want to this release and it'll all feel right. Definitely check out this one, as Night's Edge needs more recognition out there. My favorite songs off of this album are Contact, XXXX, and All For The Love.
