🌸🌸 Benevolent Wednesday presents ... Lydia Tirado (My Mommy) 🌸🌸
I wanted to honor her on our last week of the season because she is such an amazing example of a true proverbs 31 woman! My mom is a behind the scenes mom, never requires acknowledgement or attention, so I wanted to honor her today & share with you all a little glimpse of her story!
“God has proven that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He has shown me how to Trust and wait in Him. No matter what challenges and difficulties we go through. He will make a way for us and His plan is so much better than ours.
I didn’t grow up in a Christian home, however my mom would always pray with us right before bed and made sure my siblings and I would attended Church. We all grew up as churchgoers but never had a personal relationship with God. Until one day, I found Him. As a new Christian and single mother I was excited and somewhat nervous at the same time. My daughter and I began to have a closer relationship with God. Now that I look back He was getting us ready for this big shift. As a baby in Christ I met my Ruben and in time we got married and began our journey as a family. One thing stuck with me, he mentioned on our first date that he had a calling on his life to be a Pastor and I accepted it. After four years of marriage my husband received a call from an old friend that a church in Miami was looking for a Music Pastor and so the challenges began. I was totally against it. I told him this wasn’t from God and why would God move us so far away from our family, church and our great jobs. As the deadline on the calling approached, God kept showing me that it will be ok and I kept refusing to give in. After so many prayers and tears, I surrendered and accepted the call. It wasn’t easy leaving everything behind my family and church. I cried for about a year. I realized I had to fully trust God with my whole being and it wasn’t until then that I can honestly tell you, that it was the best decision we as a family every made. We all grew spiritually. We never lacked anything and God supplied our every need.
Thank you mom for being a blessing to me and everyone around you! I love you!
