Christmas Lights - Shining for Jesus in a Dark Place
Hello, my name is Sneha, and I come from the remote village of Jajarkot, in Nepal. I have three brothers, and one sister. When my youngest brother was small, he became severely ill. My grandmother, who is a witch doctor, tried to cure him but was unable to. She told us he was going to die. My parents, desperate to save his life, visited other witch doctors and hospitals, even sacrificed numerous birds and animals. All our attempts were in vain. Finally, we visited the next village where Christians lived. We asked them for prayer and said we would accept Jesus if he could do such miracles. The Christians continuously prayed for my little brother and within a month he got back his precious life. We were amazed at the miraculous power of the Lord Jesus Christ. We kept our word and accepted Christ as our Saviour. .
The Lord has blessed my little brother and he is healthy and in grade six now. Even after witnessing such a miracle, my grandparents and the other villagers are still blind. They persecute us, discriminate against us, and exclude us from various activities. Our own grandparents exiled us from home. We are the only Christian family in our village.
At present, I am studying at the Lydia Centre. I am learning important skills like sewing, craft making, cooking, learning to play musical instruments, and growing in my Christian faith. I’d like to serve my people in the future. The villagers are not happy that I am at the Lydia Centre receiving training. They trouble my parents saying bad things against my character and training. When I hear such painful words, it motivates me even more to acquire the skills I need to help my family and to be able to support myself. .
I would like to thank my sponsors for their support and ask you all to remember me in your prayers so I may be skilled and educated well enough to serve my people, even in such a tough situation. Thank you with all my heart.
