In good spirits at NAMM @thenammshow delighted Dale, with legendary Jamaican bassist, Jamaica’s prestigious Order of Distinction for contributions to Jamaican music, ever of kindness longtime ol’ bandmate friend, one of the warmest souls I know, Phil Chen @philchendebassman .
Some times known as Mr. Paparazzi, and I’ve called him Tremor for years,(due to we played in a band together called Soca Tremor and Trinidadian reggae calypso band Sapadilla).
At one NAMM years ago, Phil ask me to film with his camera him and the late Dick Dale talking together with Peter Frampton playing yelling from another booth in the background “Hey Phil !!” _______________________________________________________
Phil's massive span of career works has included holding down the bass for Rod Stewart, Pete Townsend, Jeff Beck, Mick Jagger, Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Ray Charles, Donovan, “Tommy" soundtrack album by The Who, Robbie Krieger of The Doors; and way too much to mention.
At one time, I helped Phil Chen move from his Van Nuys house, and Phillip had the tallest stacks of Gold and Platinum album awards he played on that I've ever seen by a Los Angeles guitarist musician.
