Here's a tutorial for Twisty Behind-The-Back Throws and Catches!
I updated the tutorial format a little more:
The first clip is now a short promo of the completed move. With this, you'll know what you're learning ahead of time! While I try to help people of all languages, I thought a title wouldn't hurt.
(because of the first promo clip, the 2nd clip is now referred to as #1 in the summary below, and so on)
I added numbers to the clips in the past tutorial, but the numbers faded away mid-video. In this tutorial, they stay so that you always know which step you're on!
As always, expect superb quality with stylish @astraweapons nunchaku!
Summary of Clips:
1) Catching behind your back is difficult because you can't see everything. I can't see my hand, BUT I can see my hip. Therefore, I aim to "catch" the chucks with my hip. If I mount my hand on that hip, then I can catch it the same way.
2) If you want to make it more twisty, throw the chucks in front of your body instead of the side. Whether you can reach as easily or not, it is okay to turn your body, because it makes it look even more twisty.
3) Same throw, but behind the head now. Similar to when you aimed with your hip, you will use your head this time... 😅 Obviously, you won't try to hit it, I hope!
4) Here's a double version. It looks like the chucks cross, but your arms are the ones that do. Focus more on the behind the back one out of the two.
Applications) Examples of variations you can do in many different ways during your flow!
