Today was due to be our action packed “It’s a Knockout” fun day at Hawarden playing fields but sadly due to lockdown restrictions, this had to be cancelled.
In conjunction with Deeside Round Table, we were holding this event to raise funds for two main charities close to our hearts. Deeside Ladies Circle chose CLAPA, The Cleft Lip and Palate Association. We decided on this charity as they have personally been a wealth of support and information for one of our ladies, whose son was born with a bilateral cleft lip in Sept 2017. She knows first hand what incredible work this charity does and has been wanting to do a fundraiser to help continue their support for other families for some time. The event today was due to be an event for teams of friends and families and with CLAPA helping those very people in our society, it seemed a fitting cause.
Sadly though, with the cancellation of the event it seemed that we would not be able to commit to our aim of donating but thankfully, due to continued efforts to fundraise over the previous 12 months, we had enough money in the pot and made a generous decision to still donate £750 to CLAPA. We thank everyone who continues so support Deeside Ladies Circle in whatever way, as this is what your contributions do. You might feel the actions are only small, but they change people’s lives.
