Today’s workout was short and sweet full body toning with my boy @seanspellacyfitness (check him out he has such great content, why don’t you follow him while you’re at it??) we always get together on Wednesday nights for #survivor #survivor2020 #survivorcbs @survivorcbs so we did some commercial crunches and pushups and squats. It wasn’t a whole lot but it was enough to get our heart rates up and our muscles burning! What more do you need? It’s almost the weekend and I can’t wait because this girl has actually been going into work most of this week 😫 I’m ready to sit back, relax and quarantine with my boys. We live in a 1 bedroom apartment on the third floor so we don’t have a backyard area of our own = no fun backyard games ): BUT I found this super cute Mini-cornhole game today and we have been obsessed with it 😂 safe to say this is what we will be doing all weekend. 3 MOST IMPORTANT THINGS FOR MUSCLE GAIN - There's lot of important things to think about when it comes to muscle building, but I often get asked what are the MOST IMPORTANT things to worry about when trying to add on some size. In my opinion, these are the 3 most crucial things you should keep in mind when you try to build some muscle. - (1) CALORIE SURPLUS: If you don't eat more calories than you're burning, then you're not going to get any bigger. You can lift well and sleep well, but if you aren't eating enough, you're already cutting yourself short of seeing any muscle growth. Aim for 16-18 calories per pound of bodyweight. - (2) PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD: Another crucial part of muscle growth is progressive overload, which is a term described as increasing your total training volume over time. You can do this by increasing weight, reps, or sets over time. - (3) GET ENOUGH SLEEP: Sleep is so important in either a muscle building or fat loss phase. Sleep is the best thing you can do to support muscle recovery. Okay, so today was REFEED DAY in 80 Day Obsession!!! What that means is that after being in a deficit for 6 weeks, once every two weeks before leg day, I get to eat “dirty” carbs and more fruit to restore the sugar in my body and give myself a boost of energy. So, instead of 3 servings of fruit, I got 5. And, instead of 3 healthy carbs, I had 5 “dirty” carbs (from a list of approved carbs with portion sizes). My meals were mostly the same just with more fruit and my “dirty” carbs thrown in there too. But, I did get a GRAHAM CRACKER, WAFFLE, 2 PIECES OF WHITE BREAD, and a COOKIE. I haven’t had white bread at all this year, so that was nice. And the cookie was made healthy, but still tasty and chocolatey. Dinner isn’t pictured, but it was a cookie, chicken brat, squash, and sunflower seeds. Although Refeed Day went well, I almost prefer the healthy carbs because they’re much more filling. I mean, half a sweet potato versus one cookie. I did love having so much fruit though!
