Some of the days that we had full days of game drives, we had to prepare in advance for it.
It's being out in the jungle from 6am until 5pm.
The cook packs up lunch in lunch boxes. We told him that we're vegetarians because Kosher is out of his dictionary. We were hoping to get fruits and vegetables, and we did! We also got some yummy looking cooked vegetarian food, but that was used for different purposes which I will talk about soon...
We didn't rely on the fruits and vegetables we received in our boxes. We prepared either tuna or egg sandwiches. Yes, I brought along a frying pan, pot, and cooking utensils. Oh, and also travel packs of mayo, cuz who can eat an egg sandwich without mayo?? At some point in the middle of the day we found a cozy spot in the middle of the jungle. It was beautiful!! All we saw was a magnificent, clear, blue sky and the endless jungle!! Ah! We used branches as chairs and the woods as restrooms. (See attached video 😋 )
One of the days while finding a spot for lunch, we saw kids from a nearby village hanging out near us. And then I had an amazing idea! We had our yummy packed vegetarian lunches that went to waste daily.
Hey! Remember that saying your mom used to tell you about starving kids in Africa?!? Well, I never thought we would actually get to implement that 😀
We asked the guide if it's ok to give it to them. He said we have to take everything out of their wrappers and bags. There's a plastic bag ban in Kenya and Tanzania.

But seriously, can't they first take care of their sicknesses, poverty, starvation, dirt, cruelty, crime, degrading women etc? They care about the environment!!! It's beyond me.
I will not even try to understand. I'm a spoiled American and definitely polluted those countries with at least 196 plastic bags!!!
Ok, let's get back to those delicious kids. I took apart our lunches and brought it over to them. I've never seen eyes of kids light up as theirs did! Light in the dark....literally!! They stuffed the food into
