The enjoyable habit of learning is more important than the lessons themselves.
On learning with an open spirit, we are sharing with you select and interesting thoughts by some of the greats in our old and contemporary history.
The first one:
"Don't let schooling interfere with education" - Mark Twain - The father of American literature.
"Education is not something you can finish" - Isaac Asimov - Apart from being a biochemist, Isaac is a visionary and one of the most prolific Sci-fi writers of all times, with over 500 books and 90,000 letters and postcards.
And this classical one:
"The only true wisdom is knowing you know nothing" - Socrates - The godfather of Western philosophy who in contrast to Isaac Asimov, some 2400 years ago has never written anything of his own. His work has been documented by his students, such as Plato.
As Richard Dawkins wittely puts it during last year's Darwin day lecture, in his defense against the dogmatic thinkers of our modern times: Real scholars have read more than one book.
And to end today's list, a very bright individual by the name of Eric Weinstein, a successful business person in the investment world and a challenging mathematician and scientist at heart.
Eric, on the Rubin report joined by his younger brother, also an exceptional biologist and evolutionary theorist, talks about using the 20/80 principal in learning or the 5% to get the important 80% out, said: "It will feel terrible because you will be told that you are doing wrong and dooming yourself to a life mediocrity, as the jack of many trades; master of none.
But in fact, the problem is that the jack of one trade, is the connector of none." Goodluck. 📚
Ps: Eric Weinstein's 3 minute "Jack of all trades" clip link is in the bio. I encourage you to later watch the full interview with Eric Weinstein as interviewed by Dave Rubin, on his show.
