Learn to rest One of many lessons I have learned in the past few years, is to rest. Rest when you need too. Rest when your body tells you too. Rest when your mind is fatigued. Rest when your body cannot keep up. Rest when you want to push threw. I took a rest day yesterday. It wasn't scheduled in my workout. It wasn't on my planner. I woke up & immediately wanted to go back to sleep. I knew, right then and there, that my body needed a rest day. So I rested! And today, I feel better, clearer and ready to tackle the day 🌞 Have you learned to rest?

Teacher @jessicarichburg ・・・ Tips to improve your arm balances + how to get into CROW pose bakasana 👉 I love crow pose because it’s challenging and empowering! It’s a great arm balance for beginners to learn, and there are many different variations you can practice and expand on. Full guided video online (link in bio) - Here are my tips: 🤍 make sure you warm up (especially the wrists) when practicing arm balances, you’re putting a lot of weight and strain on the wrists/forearms, so spend a good 5-10 minutes warming up (swipe for some drill ideas). 🤍 SPIDER FINGERS - a term I actually learned from instagram, press into the palms to lift the knuckles and create this suction-like shape with the hands. This helps you get a firmer grip on the mat with ANY arm balance. 🤍 when coming into crow pose - keep the hands shoulder-width apart, elbows bend IN not out (think chaturanga arms) creating a shelf for the knees. Keep the gaze UP, this prevents you from face planting (which will most likely happen your first few times, it’s inevitable with arm balances!) 🤍 if you are afraid of falling, place a pillow or cushion in front of you. 🤍 modifications: place a yoga block in front of you, enter crow pose by placing your forehead on the block. This will help you build up arm strength and practice your balance. OR place a block under your feet, this brings the floor closer to your triceps makes it easier to get your knees up there. 🤍 keep practicing and be gentle with yourself. Have fun!

First video! I didn't think an IGTV would be so tricky to upload! I recorded this mornings practice with my camera horizontal and IGTV adds it on vertical so it's very cropped 😅 I also sped up the video so it's easier to watch because the practice itself is alot slower 🧘‍♀️ The first part of my practice this morning.This was my warm up, to open the hips and joints after a long night sleep and some added sun salutations - I have the tightest hamstrings and hip flexors, my forward fold needs alot of improvement but is a work in progress. Morning yoga is the beeest! Considerando quanto è importante il ruolo di eliminazione delle tossine dal nostro corpo, più aiutiamo il nostro sistema digestivo a farlo, più sarà potente la nostra purificazione. • • • Sedetevi a gambe incrociate in appoggio sui vostri glutei, radicando bene gli ischi a terra e allungate la colonna verso l’alto. Inspirando sollevate la mano destra al cielo, ed espirando portatela dietro alla vostra schiena. Tenerla più vicina ai glutei vi aiuterà a tenere bene la schiena dritta, ma controllate che la vostra spalla destra sia morbida. Inspirando sollevate il braccio sinistro ed espirando portate la mano sinistra al ginocchio destro. Ogni inspiro è un’occasione per allungare la schiena, ogni espiro vi aiuterà a entrare ulteriormente nella vostra torsione. Controllate che entrambi i glutei restino ancorati a terra e che la torsione avvenga a partire dall’addome fino alla parte superiore del busto. Today’s “imperfect yoga pose of the day” is trikonasana (triangle pose/extended side angle) AGAIN SO MANY SHAPES!! 🔺I’ve been working on really opening up the chest and shoulders in this pose. As I said- it’s definitely not perfect but I feel I have made a lot of progress here. This is an incredible stress reliving pose while also strengthening the legs, knees, abdominals, obliques and back. How do your mornings look like ?🤔⁣ .⁣ Do you have a morning routine that will make your day more productive ? ⁣ My morning routine includes always includes a yoga sequence be it in intense or super relaxing.⁣ .⁣ This little sequence that you can add to your morning routine will give your day a kickstart to have a more productive day.🌞⁣ . 🔺️Uttanasana: Bending the knees will help stretching without overstretching to muscles, but you want to extend the spine to relieve stiffness. 🔺️Marjarasana: This gives movement to the entire spine. Push the lower & thorasic back down & lift the neck up with inhalation. Vice versa while exhaling. 🔺️Shashankasana: Your chest may not reach if the shoulders are stiff so hold wherever you can reach. Adding twist for a thoracic spine release😌 🔺️Side planks: Start with the leg down if holding is a issue. Hold the plank on both sides to get that core firing up. 🔺️Kapotasana: Don't put the hips down while compromising bending the opposite leg you want both hips aligned. Use a pillow to place below the hip to hold the posture. 🔺️Upavishta Konasana: Give a wake up stretch to them hips , while bending forward keep the back straight and don't hold back to bend the knees if its too intense 🔺️Ardha matsyendra asana: If putting one leg over other is tough you could keep only one leg bent focus on twisting while keeping the shoulders aligned. . 🤗BEGINNER BACKBEND🧘🏽‍♀️ FOR LOWER BACK PAIN . I sit at a desk 8+ hours a day and by the time 5:30pm rolls around, my lower back is usually feeling a little sore and tight. Does this happen to you too? If yes, READ ON. . If you also struggle with lower back pain, try doing this pose for 2-3 minute at the end of your work day. It’s a great beginner backbend and highly effective to release the pressure that builds up in our lower back throughout the day. . In this pose, you will feel a delicious release of your lower back as well as a gentle massage of the fascia and connective tissue in your lower back. It’s a great pose to keep the tissue lower back tissue hydrated. When we sit all day, the tissue does not get the circulation and hydration needed to stay healthy and moist. Dehydration of the tissue leads to feelings of stiffness and soreness. . 💫HOW TO GET INTO THE POSE💫 . Lie on your back with your knees bent. Lift the hips and place a block underneath the sacrum (supporting your tailbone). Hold the pose for 2-3 minutes. . 💡MODIFICATIONS💡 . 🔵 If you don’t have a block, try using a book (similar size and shape to a yoga block) wrapped in a small towel. For a more gentle experience, you can also used a folded blanket or bolster. . 🔵 You can adjust the height and orientation of the block (lower or higher setting) . 🔵Play around with the positioning of the arms. Wie oft begegnen uns gerade Inn den sozialen Medien Bilder von Menschen, die augenscheinlich perfekt erscheinen. Tolle Yogapose, tolle Yogaklamotten, supet gestylt. . Aber ist das das reale Leben? Entschieden NEIN! . Kennt nicht jeder von uns die Situation, in der man mal eben schnell die Yogamatte im unaufgeräumten Zimmer ausrollt, die Haare schnell zum Dutt geknotet, in den"Schlumpiklamotten" 10 Minuten durch die Praxis hastet? . Oder die Seifenblase die schnell platzt, wenn die Yogaleggings an einem selbst so gar nicht aussieht wie auf dem Bild im Netz? .
