First day back at training since Break Central and it was time to meticulously apply what I'd learned to my training. The proverbial fire has been lit under one's proverbial arse.
First port of call was to throw some time into rollback work. Today it was all about the rollback headstand to prove to myself that I could definitely do them. Next sesh I can get back to smashing out those rollback handstands again. Ultimately these will build into a combo I want to incorporate into my rounds.
As promised, I've started focusing on my footwork more. Well, more than before. And that was a lot. So this time it'll be like...woah, that's more. Broken down the movement a little today and I've realised there are specific steps I'll need to drill individually instead of full footwork patterns after all. Two weeks of those and I should be ready for full pattern drills. Also it majorly bugs me that I can't keep up with crew footwork drills at the moment 😂
HOWEVER, what's funny is that drills involving jumping into freezes comes relatively easier for me than footwork. I'll need to take advantage of this more.
Wrapped up with some Mills training, specifically focusing on the transition into them. All in an effort to use them more in my dancing. I mean if you've got em, you had better flaunt em. Shout out to @ndoublei for tips on improving these by recommending a drill and reminding me about the rotational component of the pretzel.
Now time to rest so my body will be nice to me tomorrow.
