“A strong woman looks a challenge in the eye and gives it a wink”... —
Much much progress done on this one today! SILENTLY | 2020
So many questions I get asked around my art and my styles, especially this one, my little gibberish. Where does it start? Is it random? What inspires you? How did it develop? — firstly it starts with a dot, a line or a squiggle, anything really. It is a random process, the symbols come out spontaneously, naturally, almost because of a deep rooted need to let go, let something take me into the wilderness of my mind, the mad genius that hides behind my eyes. Letting go, letting the art take you wherever it wants to go opens far more doors - even the darkest ones that you never knew existed - than wanting to plan and overthink everything. “Existence is stripped of his insipidity when you allow yourself to succumb to your fears. When you allow yourself to disappear, to not exist anymore in your process of creating. Letting go allows you to travel the darkest depths and highest highs, in a state of complete euphoria and madness or in the loudest silence.” - Roberta —
I have three commandments I follow for inspiration: SIMPLICITY, CHALLENGE and PAIN.
Once I set my mind on it, I am unstoppable, I will get there no matter what it’ll take. Challenging yourself and your existence is the only path to the discovery of your universal purpose. Pain is what keeps that purpose alive. Simplicity.. none said it better but my friend Leonardo da Vinci: “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” — lastly, I used to work with patterns, was always fascinated by the little things, the dots, the spots, lines, zentangle art, mandalas and so on.. from then to now it has been more than a decade. Most of that time was spent in Beijing and now Hong Kong, that is where things started to shift and looser forms and movements took over, in my preferred medium, Chinese ink.
I hope this helps you understand a little bit more about me🖤
Have a fantastic day everyone!
Buona giornata amici miei!
