Our #FeministFridays feature millennial African women doing amazing work and bringing new energy to the feminst and philanthropy world . This week for FEMINIST FRIDAY, we are featuring Francesca Onomarie Uriri, Internal Communications Lead, People, Culture & Diversity at Uber San Francisco
Francesca , is known as a “game changer” at Uber, where she worked as Head of Communications in West Africa, including driving Brand Safety, Crisis, Corporate and Consumer Communications, where her work led to improved perception of the company in Sub-Saharan Africa. She is the founder of Leading Ladies Africa a non-profit organization that promotes women empowerment and gender inclusion, specifically for African women. Francesca has over 12 years’ experience that has spanned from corporate relations to content development for a variety of Fortune 500 companies, social impact organizations, and even start ups. She’s an advocate for women's empowerment, gender diversity, and inclusiveness.
We love this fierce quote by Francesca stating in an interview via uber that states:
“I think that affirming people is such a powerful way to keep them motivated. Not in a blanket way that isn’t personal but in specific and particular ways that play up their strengths and help them grow past their weaknesses. I’m also a firm believer in being a source of positive energy and turning that outwards. When you fill a space with positive energy, it multiplies and has a really powerful effect.” We celebrate you today Francesca!
