Chapter 2. Kazakhstan. Part 5.
So yes, I left my students and started working for this big corporation, first, as a translator. A few months later, the Marketing VP saw potential and offered me a vacant position of a Marketing coordinator that I “wore” for two months only. They promoted me to a brand specialist, then a year later to a brand manager. Next thing you know - I’m a Group Marketing Manager, and I just turned 27:). All this is fun, my resume looks amazing BUT: 1) I literally live at work, my soon-to be-ex bf hates my laptop, my company and often ... my face lol; 2) We break up, get back together, break up again ... this time for good; 3) I have no time for anything, and just want to sleep, sleep, sleep; 4) I travel a lot and decide that I’m not a gf-material. Skip fw - I get an offer to join the Headquarters team (lol sky is the limit really) in Denmark! Whaaat? It takes me 20 minutes to sign the contract, and I’m off to Europe, where I will continue climbing up this always hungry corporate food chain, a crazy roller-coaster of endless business hours, sleepless nights, working weekends and short / no vacations, blood sucking stress, political games, ugly truth, shit, stabs in the back, intrigues, etc.. But I will keep climbing higher and running even faster ... until one day - when I will finally realize that all this is not for me... That I want to create and just ... live. Well, truth be told I am happy and proud I once experienced being one of those crazy, always hungry animals, but back then I never got to be able to spend time with my other side of me that I had simply left forgotten for too long... What helped me last so long and not turn into a completely bloodless robot? Partly, my optimism and love for life. But more so lots of really great and talented people, amazing opportunities to travel, to taste the world, to experience new, and challenges that helped me learn so much about myself. I learned that I can live anywhere and get along with anyone; I can cook and actually pretty damn well; that people may have different backgrounds and be of different origin, race, religion, color, sexual preferences, and even ...
