3212. “I don’t know, maybe I didn’t think about it because I want to be here.” Though he’s only been living in the U.S. for the last 10 months, Marco Boshra hasn’t felt a tough transition simply because he’s so motivated to be here. Originally from Upper Egypt, he eventually made his way down to Cairo to obtain his degree in Accounting, a subject he studied because of his placement exam results. Not having a passion for numbers, though, Marco desired to become a pilot in the Egyptian Air Force after school and planned to become an English professor as a backup. While he didn’t make it into the Air Force, he did start studying English about 3 years ago thanks to the encouragement of his mother. He also started studying the Old Greek language and Latin around that time as a result of his Coptic Orthodox faith. For work, however, Marco answered customer service calls for @vodafoneegypt, practicing his English by speaking with clients from Ireland and the UK. In April of 2019, though, he moved to San Francisco where he completed a program through which he learned how to teach English to immigrants. Marco then moved here to New Jersey about 8 months ago, renewing his visa and setting up his future. He’s now getting his footing as a delivery man for @tonyboloneys, and in the future, hopes to start taking aviation classes, continuing to work towards his ultimate dream of becoming a pilot! So nice to meet you, @marcobushra! #10kfriends #hoboken #egypt #cairo #accounting #aviation #english #faith #esl #vodafone #delivery #pilot #meetingpeople
